My Demographics

Generation X was born during the single most anti-child phase in American history. In the early 1960s, the birth control pill became widely available, and in 1973, abortion was legalized. These are two factors that are said to have contributed to the generation’s low numbers. Generation X is sandwiched between the millennials and babyboomers with 46 million. The age range from Generation X as of 2014 is 33 to 53. In 2011, the first GenXer turned 50 years old and the youngest turned 30. The years for Generation X vary from one historian, government agency and marketing firm to the next. The United States Social Security Administration defines Generation X as “those born roughly between 1964 and 1979, while another federal agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, sets the parameters at 1965 to 1977. George Masnick of Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies sets the Baby Buster years at 1965 to 1984. Gen-Xers distrust authority and large institutions including corporations, religious institutions and the government. GenXers have come of age during an interesting time in the world. They remember rotary dial phones and the explosion of mobile technology. They remember Liquid Paper and plunking out term papers on typewriters. They grew up in a world without social media, and yet have adapted to it even invented it!

week 2 Boston Consulting Goup

Wow! The video game industry have come a long way since the old days. I remember playing astroids, pac man, and centipede as a kid at the arcade every weekend. Also remember playing Atari at home as a kid. Growing up in the 80s I was the generation that got to be apart of seeing it all happen and experiencing and watching the growth of this multibillion dollar industry. People are spending more and more each year to have entertainment in the home. I am a mother of 3 and my son always wants the latest games... I just cant keep up. The Playstation4 has sold over 18 million, about 8 million more than Xbox.  Also Wii is a poplar one too! My kids keep asking for one but as a single mom I cant afford to have both consoles in the home and buying games for both. So they are just gonna have to be happy with the Playstaion4...

Week 1 EOC:My Voice

Hello my name is Danielle Liquori, I am a newborn baby photographer. I been doing photography for almost 11 yrs. I have had a passion for photography since I was in my early twenties. I have always had a good eye for it... being an artistic person. Though I never knew I wanted to do it for a living till I was in my early thirties. I was pursing a music career in my younger years and planned on doing that never realizing I would someday get old. I was also on the other side of the camera for many years going into my childhood. I worked as a child model back in the 70s in Southern California for a company called Franklins of New York. It was a chain of department stores and I came out in catalogs and back to school advertisement that got mailed out to homes for sales before school started. Composition was very easy for me.  The very first time I picked up a camera for a photo shoot i hand a knack for it. I have always had an eye for beauty and art. I strive to own my own business and get my own clients, make my own schedule and work when ever I want to. Ultimately my plan is to be a child photographer, shooting photos for child actors and models. I plan on shooting some wonderful head shots of my own children and get them into the business too.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service at Austins Steakhouse

I first moved to Las Vegas in August of 2002 . We had only been here for about 2 weeks. Me and my husband at the time were searching for a nice restaurant to have dinner in.  We stumbled across Austin's steakhouse inside of the Texas station. We got there and we were immediately seated. We were given friendly prompt service. The waiter was very kind and courteous. He suggested some red wines and served them expeditiously. We kind of already knew what we wanted but they suggested some items on the menu so we decided to order filet mignon along with green beans and baked potato... the food was excellent! The waiter kept coming back and checking on, us filling up water and another glass of wine. I, at one point needed to make a phone call so they brought me a phone. We were both shocked that they would loan me the phone to the restaurant ( I think my cell phone had died ). I also needed to use the restroom and the waiter actually walked me to the restroom. He came back for me and walked me back to the table. We ordered dessert and it was very nice decadent piece of chocolate mousse cake or something like that. We were so amazed on how well we were treated and how good the service and the food was. When we arrived home my husband joked around and said I bet they would of given us a ride home and tucked us in bed too. I got a kick out his humor over this experience... Oh and I must not forget how comfortable my seat was. The décor in the restaurant was very fancy and low light nicely dimmed and intimate setting.  I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a steakhouse off the strip. Its a wonderful place for a nice romantic dinner on an anniversary or valentines day dinner. I have not been back but have recommended it to many people and have told this experience we had there on many occasions...
